jarrell + chantal

our story

Jarrell and Chantal’s story began at the historic College of William and Mary. After crossing the stage at graduation, Chantal reached out to Jarrell which set the stage for a legendary series of events. Little did she know, Jarrell was down for the count, having just had his wisdom teeth yanked out. But never one to miss an opportunity, she took him to Sweet Frog, and thus began a string of memorable dates, featuring Bonefish Grill and Harpoon Larry’s.

Fast forward to December 27th night in 2014, when Jarrell finally mustered up the courage to ask Chantal to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, their lives were intertwined. As Jarrell continued to push through grad school, Chantal landed a job and moved back up to the DC area. The couple became intimately familiar with Interstate 95, making countless trips up and down to see each other. After Jarrell finished grad school and secured a job in DC, the two lovebirds decided it was time to close the distance gap for good.

Jarrell, always the more put-together person, bought a house in Silver Spring, Maryland, while Chantal put a security deposit down on a newly built apartment in Fort Totten. However, the new apartment turned out to be too new—Chantal never moved in due to failed completion times. Instead, she went from claiming a drawer in Silver Spring, to claiming a closet (or two), to one year later, claiming a room!

In true millennial fashion, Jarrell, Chantal, and her fur-child Kiwi temporarily moved in together in Silver Spring. About a year later, Chantal impulsively bought a condo in DC, and the two lived "separately" again for about a year. Then, COVID came along, and this time, Jarrell snuck his way into her space. One day, he was putting his place up for rent, and the next, he arrived at Chantal's 700 square foot condo with a U-Haul truck full of boxes—payback!

Soon, they found themselves reunited as roomies again, but that wasn't enough. They then bought not one, not two, but three poochies—because why have one adorable furball when you can have a whole pack? With their growing furry family and super limited square footage, they decided to plant bigger roots and bought a house. Life was chaotic but beautiful, filled with love, laughter, and a lot of fur!.

The grand finale came on a sun-soaked trip to Mexico in 2023, where Jarrell, ever the romantic, got down on one knee and popped the question. Chantal said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Throughout their journey, every family member and friend played a crucial role in their adventure. They are forever grateful for the love and support from their circle, and they are thrilled to have you join them as they celebrate their wedding. Here’s to more celebrations, more vacations, and more unforgettable memories with all of you!
